Create Local Windows Account

Cannot Create Windows Account when setting up new computer as Email or License does not work.

The purpose of this procedure is to explain the steps taken when you want to create a LOCAL account for a new Windows computer. Normally when you have purchased the incorrect license type for your computer and you need to get past the Windows Hello/Login process.

  1. During Windows Hello process press Shift + F10 and it will open a command prompt.
  2. In the command prompt enter the following: start ms-cxh:localonly
  3. This will now start the process of creating a local account where you can enter whichever details you like and they do not have to be linked to Microsoft or Microsoft licenses.
